Using the site

The calculators, the ingredient database, the label maker and the recipe library are free and need no account. An account is optional; to make one you have to be old enough to enter into a contract where you live. Keep your password and recovery code to yourself: your password never leaves your browser, so we cannot recover it for you, and the recovery code is the only way back in.

Your data

What you save is yours. We keep it to run the site for you and for nothing else. You can export all of it at any time from your account page, on every plan, and deleting your account deletes it. If a plan ends, everything you saved stays readable and exportable; only new entries in the parts that plan includes stop. The privacy page says what is kept and who else handles it.

Plans and payment

Free includes a batch log of up to 10 batches; Maker and Business add what the pricing page lists, at the prices shown there. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle adds the sales tax or VAT your country charges, and its own buyer terms apply to the purchase.

Maker and Business renew automatically, monthly or yearly as you chose, until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from your account page; the plan then runs to the end of the period already paid for. The Business trial is free for 30 days and is charged when it ends unless you cancel before. Switching between plans or intervals is charged or credited in proportion to the time left. Founding is a single payment for Maker for as long as the site exists, with the first year of Business included.

Refunds

A first payment can be refunded in full within 30 days, by you, from your account page. The refund policy has the details.

What the calculators are, and are not

The figures come from published data with their sources named, and the site says how uncertain they are. They are not a guarantee, and they do not replace your own judgement or a safety assessment. Sodium and potassium hydroxide are caustic: weigh them, handle them with protection and follow safe practice every time. Labels, ingredient lists, dossiers and filing sheets are drafts prepared for you and your safety assessor; they are never a certificate of compliance, and you remain responsible for what you sell and for meeting the rules where you sell it.

The assistant

The assistant's answers are written by an AI model from the recipe and the question you give it. They can be wrong, they are not professional advice, and the assistant never gives a lye amount: every number that matters comes from the calculator.

What you share

Recipes and notes you publish can be read by anyone. You keep the rights to them and let us show them on the site. Do not publish anything that is not yours to publish, is unlawful, or is meant to harm; we may remove it and close accounts that do.

Liability

The site is provided as it is. As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our liability for anything else is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits a liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer.

Changes

When these terms change, the date at the top changes. A change to what a paid plan includes takes effect for you at your next renewal.
