Moving from Mendrulandia
MendruCalc keeps your formulas in the browser you made them in, with no account. It can write a formula out as plain text, and that is the way to bring it over. The menu names below are MendruCalc’s own, in Spanish.
Getting a recipe out of Mendrulandia
- Open MendruCalc in the browser you made the formulas in, and load one from “Gestor de fórmulas”.
- In the flask menu, choose “Escribir fórmula”. The formula appears as text: the oils, then “Sobreengrasado”, “Concentración”, “Agua” and “Sosa”.
- Copy all of it. The Spanish oil names are read as they are, and the water and lye are kept out of the oils.
- Before you clear that browser, keep a copy of every formula with “BackUp fórmulas” in the extra menu. MendruCalc can load the file it saves.
Bringing it in
- Paste it into the importer and check the list: each oil, its amount, and the oil it was matched to.
- Pick an oil for any line it could not match, then open the recipe in the calculator.
- Check the superfat and the water, then save it. The recipe’s name comes with it when the page had one.
What changes on the way
The superfat and the lye concentration come across from the text. A new recipe here starts at 5 % superfat, not MendruCalc’s 7 %.
MendruCalc writes whole grams, so a small amount, such as 15 g of avocado oil, can be half a gram off. The percentages here are worked out from those grams.
The file “Descargar fórmula” saves, and the links “Compartir fórmula” makes, name the oils by number, so they cannot be read here. Use “Escribir fórmula”.
The lye can come out a gram or two different. That is not the arithmetic: each calculator holds its own saponification value for some oils. The importer puts the lye your recipe states next to ours, and each oil’s page names where its value comes from.
