JP XVIII 'Camellia Oil' (Oleum Camelliae): fixed oil from the peeled seeds of Camellia japonica L.; specific gravity 0.910-0.914 (25/25); acid value NMT 2.8; saponification value 188-194; unsaponifiable matters NMT 1.0 %; iodine value 78-83; congeals partly at 10 C and completely at 15 C. No fatty-acid ranges in the monograph (null). Note: Codex CXS 210 (2024 amendment) added 'camellia seed oil (youcha oil)' from cultivated Camellia oleifera/chekiangoleosa/japonica/vietnamensis, but that print could not be retrieved.
