Datasets #13266 (1992), #13430 (1971), #15482 (1977), #11008 (1977) and #13068 (1988) used for the ranges.
A drying, linolenic-rich oil (iodine value about 136). Typical values are Salimon, Abdullah & Salih 2012 (Lipids Health Dis. 11:74): seeds collected from '(RRI) Sungai Buloh', Malaysia, shelled, oven-dried, milled and Soxhlet-extracted with hexane; the oil was not neutralised. Table 1: free fatty acids 7.55 % as oleic, acid value 15.03 mg KOH/g, iodine value (Wijs) 135.79 +/- 0.33, saponification value 182.12 +/- 0.27 mg/g, unsaponifiable matter 1.83 %, average triglyceride molar mass 924.12. Table 2: palmitic 8.56, stearic 10.56, oleic 22.95, linoleic 37.28, linolenic 19.22, others 1.43. The paper looked for linamarin, the seed's cyanogenic glucoside, in the oil: no cyanide by FTIR or by the Konig-reaction colorimetric test, and no toxic effect in a 3-month rat feeding study. Ranges add PlantFAdb's usable datasets for Hevea brasiliensis (plant 10152): 'Catalytic conversion of Hevea brasiliensis and Virola sebifera oils to hydrocarbon fuels' (1992): C16:1 3.1, C16:0 6.2, C18:3 17.6, C18:2 42.3, C18:1 20.8, C18:0 10.0; 'Der Schleppdampf-(Einblasedampf-) Verbrauch bei der ein- und zweistufigen destillativen Entsauerung' (1971): C16:0 8.0, C18:3 20.0, C18:2 33.0, C18:1 30.0, C18:0 9.0; 'Oil-bearing plants of Zaire III' (1977): C14:0 0.2, C16:0 10.8, C18:3 19.1, C18:2 29.3, C18:1 28.2, C18:0 12.6; 'Studies on levels of oxalic acid and phytic acid in traditional foods of northern Nigerians' (1977): C16:0 7.0, C18:3 24.3, C18:2 38.2, C18:1 21.9, C18:0 8.3; 'Tocotrienols in bleached Thai rubberseed oil' (1988): C14:0 0.7, C16:1 0.2, C16:0 11.0, C18:3 10.6, C18:2 42.7, C18:1 26.1, C18:0 8.3, C20:0 0.4. Not used: a 1969 entry summing to 105 %, a 1983 Karnataka entry summing to 111.8 % (PlantFAdb flags it; it also lists saponification 185.5 and iodine 134.5), a latex furanoid-acid entry, two entries whose titles belong to other plants (African locust bean, pearl lupine), and the second PlantFAdb record for H. brasiliensis (plant 19446), whose mostly Chinese-language titles did not render. Check: Salimon's profile implies about 192 mg KOH/g, 5 % above the measured 182.12 (the paper's own triglyceride molar mass of 924 matches the measurement: 3 x 56106 / 924 = 182), and about 136 g I2/100 g against 135.79.
