A bar made of 100 % Rice Bran Wax
Conventional qualities summed from the fatty-acid groups; a single-oil bar is a reference point, not a recipe.
Fatty-acid profile
| Fatty acid | Published range, % | Used | |
|---|---|---|---|
| This is a true wax — esters of long-chain acids and alcohols rather than a triglyceride — so a fatty-acid profile in the soapmaking sense does not describe it. | |||
Where these numbers come from
Technical specification block on the product page: melting point, acid value, saponification value, iodine value, INCI, CAS, composition description.
Producer specification for refined rice bran wax (Koster Keunen product #224, CAS 8016-60-2): melting point 77-82 C, acid value 13 mg KOH/g maximum, saponification value 75-120 mg KOH/g, iodine value 20 g/100 g maximum. Composition per the producer: high-molecular-weight monoesters of C46-C66 (long-chain fatty acids esterified with long-chain alcohols) retaining policosanols, phospholipids, phytosterols and squalene; it is a wax ester, not a triglyceride, so the SAP reflects ester+acid content and the wax does not form conventional soap. No fatty-acid breakdown or unsaponifiable figure is published (null). The US food-additive regulation 21 CFR 172.890 (rice bran wax) could not be opened in this session (eCFR and govinfo blocked the fetch), so it is not cited. INCI name as stated on the producer page.
