Hydrogenated Coconut Oil
INCI Hydrogenated Coconut Oil. Saponified with NaOH it is listed as Sodium Hydrogenated Cocoate, with KOH as Potassium Hydrogenated Cocoate. Also: Coconut oil, hydrogenated, Hardened coconut oil, Fully hydrogenated coconut oil.
Calculate a 100 % Hydrogenated Coconut Oil bar
That is stoichiometry on a measured composition rather than a guess, and it is about as well determined as a published figure: checked against the 35 Codex oils where both fields come from the same standard, the method's median error is 0.90 % and its 90th percentile 2.74 %, with no meaningful bias. The formula page shows the working. If you have a certificate of analysis for your lot, enter its measured value in the calculator and this estimate is set aside.

Where these numbers come from
The composition table was read from this HTML page, where the "not more than" sign is an image (images/chars/le.gif, rendered here as <=); entries carrying it are recorded as max, the others as min-max. Melting range <741> 30-38 C, acid value NMT 2.0, peroxide value NMT 5.0, unsaponifiable matter NMT 0.8 %; no saponification or iodine value. The page scan of the same monograph on the same mirror (https://www.drugfuture.com/Pharmacopoeia/usp35/PDF/1762-1762%20Hydrogenated%20Coconut%20Oil.pdf) prints "Official from May 1, 2012" and the same values (its text layer carries any limit signs as U+2264, which pdftotext keeps only with -enc UTF-8).
Same Table 1 composition, melting range 30-38 C, acid value NMT 2.0, peroxide value NMT 5.0 and unsaponifiable matter NMT 0.8 % as USP 35-NF 30; the page marks the deletion of the heavy-metals test "(Official 1-Dec-2015)". No saponification or iodine value.
Printing date 29 January 2026. Iodine value max. 2,0 g I2/100g (Ph. Eur. 2.5.4); free fatty acids max. 0,10 % (Ph. Eur. 2.5.1); peroxide value max. 1,0 meq O2/kg (Ph. Eur. 2.5.5); refractive index (60 C) 1,440-1,443 (Ph. Eur. 2.2.6). pdftotext -layout offsets the parameter names by two rows against the method/unit/value columns; -raw keeps each name with its method and value.
USP 35-NF 30 NF monograph 'Hydrogenated Coconut Oil' [84836-98-6]: the product obtained by refining and hydrogenating the oil obtained from the seeds of Cocos nucifera (Fam. Palmae). Melting range <741>: between 30 and 38 C; acid value (Method II) not more than 2.0; peroxide value not more than 5.0; unsaponifiable matter not more than 0.8 %. Fatty acid composition (<401>), printed as carbon-chain length / number of double bonds / percentage: 6/0 <=1.5; 8/0 5.0-9.0; 10/0 4.0-9.0; 12/0 44.0-52.0; 14/0 15.0-20.0; 16/0 8.0-11.0; 18/0 8.0-14.0; 20/0 <=0.2; >20/0 <=0.5; 16/1 <=1.0; 18/1 <=1.5; 18/2 <=0.5; 18/3 <=0.2; 20/1 <=0.2. The '<=' sign is an image (images/chars/le.gif) on the mirror's HTML page and a U+2264 character in the page-scan PDF, which pdftotext keeps only with -enc UTF-8 (its default Latin-1 output drops it and leaves bare numbers); pdftotext -layout also shifts those values half a row, while -raw pairs them as the HTML does. Entries carrying the sign are recorded as max, the others as min-max. Not mapped: saturated acids longer than C20 (>20/0), <=0.5 %, a group limit that cannot be assigned to one key. The 16/1, 18/1, 18/2, 18/3 and 20/1 rows are totals by chain length and double-bond count and are mapped to palmitoleic, oleic, linoleic, linolenic and gadoleic under this dataset's isomer rule; in a hydrogenated fat they include any trans (e.g. elaidic) and positional isomers formed during hydrogenation, and no source here prints a trans share. Representative total 104.6 % (limits counted at their maxima). Degree of hydrogenation: fully hydrogenated - at most 1.5 % C18:1 and 0.5 % C18:2 remain and stearic acid is 8.0-14.0 %. iodineValue is from Gustav Heess's specification for 'Coconut oil hydrogenated' (INCI Hydrogenated Coconut Oil, CAS 84836-98-6, EINECS 284-283-8): iodine value max. 2.0 g I2/100g (Ph. Eur. 2.5.4); the same sheet gives free fatty acids max. 0.10 %, peroxide value max. 1.0 meq O2/kg and refractive index (60 C) 1.440-1.443 (printed with decimal commas), and prints no saponification value, melting point or fatty-acid composition. USP 38-NF 33 prints the same composition table, melting range 30-38 C, acid value NMT 2.0, peroxide value NMT 5.0 and unsaponifiable matter NMT 0.8 %. sapKohMgPerG is null: neither USP edition nor the Heess sheet prints a saponification value, the drugfuture pharmacopoeia index lists only USP-NF entries for hydrogenated coconut oil (no Ph. Eur./BP monograph), JP XVIII 'Hydrogenated Oil' is a generic monograph without composition or saponification value, no other producer data sheet printing one could be reached, and the value for unhydrogenated coconut oil is not borrowed. meltingPointC is the USP <741> melting range. The salt names are CosIng's entries for Sodium Hydrogenated Cocoate and Potassium Hydrogenated Cocoate, the salts of hydrogenated coconut acid.
