Specification table on the product page: acid value 321-329, saponification value 322-330 mg KOH/g, iodine value 0.5 max, titre 30-32 C, colour 0.5/5 max (Lov R/Y); composition C6 0.5 max, C8 1 max, C10 99 min, C12 1 max, others 0.5 max; product form liquid.
Brochure PDF (uploaded 2012), fractionated fatty acids table: AV 321-329, SAP 322-330, IV 0.5 max, titre 30-32 C, colour 0.5/5 max, C6 0.5 max, C8 1 max, C10 99 min, C12 1 max. Text extracted with pdftotext -layout; extracted rows are shifted one line against their labels and were checked against the product page.
Producer specification for Wilmar WILFARIN CA-1099 (Capric Acid 99%, from the splitting of palm and palm-kernel oil): acid value 321-329 mg KOH/g, saponification value 322-330 mg KOH/g, iodine value 0.5 max (% I2 absorbed = g/100 g), titre 30-32 C, colour 0.5/5 max (Lovibond R/Y), composition C6 0.5 % max, C8 1 % max, C10 99 % min, C12 1 % max, others 0.5 % max; supplied liquid. Free fatty acid, so one KOH per molecule and not three: 56106 / 172.26 = 325.7 mg KOH/g for the pure acid against a published band of 322-330, agreement to well under a percent. The published value is the one to use for lye calculation. Titre 30-32 C is a solidification point, not a melting point, so meltingPointC is null; C10 is solid at room temperature and melts in the hand, which is the practical difference from C8. Wilmar's oleochemical brochure repeats the same limits (additional source); its text-extracted rows sit one line off their labels, so the product page was used to fix the mapping. In soap C10 behaves like a shorter, sharper lauric: it lathers instantly and cleans hard, and past roughly 15-20 % of the fat it strips skin and softens the bar, which is why it normally appears only as the 5-10 % that comes with coconut or palm-kernel oil rather than as a neat addition. INCI is the standard entry and was not re-verified on CosIng in this session; the salt names were not established from an allowed document, so saponifiedInci is null.
